UPDATES IN TERM 3

GARDEN TO TABLE

Tamariki have been working hard in our ngahere with Pappy and Winston.
They have planted over 100 plants throughout our ngahere and with support have
made a native pathway and seating throughout our ngahere. This has become
such a peaceful and tranquil space for tamariki to work in. We want to make a
HUGE THANK YOU to Kaikohe BUNNINGS for all their sponsorship,
donations and man power towards our GTT Programme - this is very
much appreciated and is going to really support our sustainability focus.

Tamariki in the kitchen have been busy this term utilising vegetables, herbs
and flowers in our garden into our recipes. Some of the kai we have cooked
this term has been, herb scones, coleslaw, vege soup, stir-fry, fried rice etc

Too wet to collect harakeke.  Paper strips worked just fine.
However, because of the flexibility they kept bending. We are investigating
making harakeke baskets to use for our plants when the tupu are visible - a
sustainable option instead of using plastic containers.
